Commands and examples¶
Run commands on your computer, in the activated environment, from the cloned noa-client root. The current command module imports repository examples and resolves their FPGA paths relative to the working directory.
Device information and help¶
Replace the address with your target's hostname or IP:
python -m noa.noa arch1-00001.local --device-info --disconnect
python -m noa.noa --help
The installed noa command uses the same entry point. The module form makes the selected Python environment explicit.
Repository examples¶
python -m noa.noa arch1-00001.local --example registers
| Example | Purpose | Before running |
|---|---|---|
registers |
Write two values and observe their sum | Use the supplied matching FPGA files |
analog_out |
Generate and map three-phase output signals | Check output connections and voltage limits |
digital_io |
Exercise digital loopback | Wire the loopback described in the source |
daq |
Plot signals and save queued windows | Have a working plotting environment; this example runs continuously |
stream_in |
Send arrays and check sum/count registers | Use the supplied stream-input design |
Each example programs the target. Check board compatibility first. Browse the source examples for their setup and behavior.
Load files explicitly¶
python -m noa.noa arch1-00001.local --bit design.bit --hwh design.hwh --disconnect
Without --hwh, the CLI uses the .bit filename stem with a .hwh suffix. Repository examples use design_1_wrapper.bit and design_1.hwh: pass both when loading them manually.
Release the session¶
Manual operations disconnect at the end only with --disconnect. Include it for a self-contained command. Example runners use async with to manage their session.
Do not attempt session recovery while another user or acquisition is active. See troubleshooting.
