Installation and compatibility¶
Before installing NOA Toolbox, identify your board and the software versions supplied or recommended with your Toolbox release.
First complete the shared Getting started steps to connect your target and check network reachability with ping. This does not require noa-client.
| Requirement | What to check |
|---|---|
| MATLAB and Simulink | A release supported by your Toolbox package |
| HDL Coder | Installed and licensed for FPGA code generation |
| AMD Vivado | The version supported by your board's Toolbox workflow |
| Board support packages | The HDL Coder support packages required for your target |
| NOA Toolbox | The .mltbx installer and your activation code |
| Target software | The Rexys-provided PYNQ image for your specific board |
| Network | Ethernet connection and the target's IP address or hostname |
Version information in this guide
The existing walkthrough uses Vivado 2024.1 and includes Eclipse Z7 examples. These screenshots do not establish compatibility with every MATLAB release, Toolbox version or board. A verified compatibility matrix is not yet included in this guide; confirm the required combination with Rexys before installing a different toolchain.
Rexys supplies PYNQ images for its platforms and supported commercial boards. Use the image intended for your board; a generic PYNQ image should not be assumed to contain the services needed by Toolbox or NOA Python Client.
For PYNQ-Z2 and Eclypse Z7, see System images and SD card setup. Image download links are not yet published in this guide.
For a first run, use the sine wave example. Its physical-output steps require a supported analog output. Adapt the target platform and I/O mapping to your board rather than copying another board's settings unchanged.
