Troubleshooting

Connection fails

Check power, Ethernet connectivity and the target address. If hostname resolution fails, try its known IP address. Browser access is not required.

If the network works but manager requests time out, check the Rexys-provided image and its NOA services. A standard PYNQ/Jupyter installation alone is not sufficient evidence that the client services are present. Use the image for your board; the client repository does not specify image versions or service installation commands.

Target already in use

The manager tracks the host holding the session. End that session normally before connecting from another host/application. Prefer async with Noa(...) in scripts and --disconnect for self-contained manual commands.

Wrong Python API imported

The host client and target drivers both use noa. Use a dedicated host environment containing noa-client. Client examples import Noa from noa.noa; PYNQ examples use a different API on the target.

Example files or modules not found

Run from the cloned repository root with the environment activated. The CLI imports examples and looks below that directory for FPGA files. Specify the matching .hwh explicitly when its filename stem differs from the .bit file.

Register values appear stale

Reads return cached asynchronous updates. Use a callback to wait for the value you need. Check addresses and types against your actual design.

No DAQ data

Check the running design, setup_data(), enabled channels and trigger condition. Use a timeout around queued reads during diagnosis. Thresholds are raw design values, not automatically converted physical units.

Consume windows promptly or use short callbacks. Increasing queue size only buffers temporary delays; it does not fix sustained processing slower than acquisition.

Digital mapping rejected

Mapped pins in a bank must share direction and voltage. Check the bank mapping and include all required mappings in each port setup call.
